DIGBY AND THE LULLABY
Digby & the lullaby
Johannesburg, 18 March 2014 - From Cape Town to New York, Rouchelle Hubsch (vocals and piano), and Darren Peens (guitar and vocals) have cast their indie-folk spell on audiences everywhere. Digby and the lullaby have a flair for intimate performances that transcends the normal live experience. From the first note you are drawn into a world of deeply soulful, personal and emotionally captivating music. Their self funded debut album, “The Somewhere Wind”, was recorded in New York City with producer Kieren Kelly (Angus and Julia Stone, Better than Ezra) and features 11 sonic vignettes, including “We lost another one”, “Shotgun”, “Breathe”, “Sweet starry night” and the exuberant first single “Magnificent”.
Graham Ward (drummer, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Ray Charles) puts it best when he says, “The joy of hearing and seeing these two live stays with you long after you leave, you will be hooked”. Independent writer and editor Gisele Turner was equally blown away “Digby and the lullaby held their audience in suspended animation for two full sets. People walked out a bit wobbly on their feet. An unbroken wave of truth and love does that to you”.
