(2014 Super Rugby warm-up match)

Lions head coach Johan Ackermann has announced a 23-man side to face the Southern Kings in Nelson Mandela Bay, this Saturday.

 

Several players that Ackermann opted to rest for last weekend’s warm-up, against the Leopards/NWU-Pukke, will make the trip down to the Eastern Cape. Julian Redelinghuys, Franco van der Merwe, Jaco Kriel, Warren Whiteley, Michael Bondesio, Marnitz Boshoff and Andries Coetzee will all start this weekend’s match.

 

In other changes, Willie Wepener is promoted to the starting XV as Robbie Coetzee provides cover on the wood.

 

In the backline, Lionel Mapoe comes in at outside centre as JW Jonker is moved to the bench. Chrysander Botha will also start at wing for this fixture.

 

The match will kick off at 17h00.

Big Concerts have been working in close consultation with Stadium Management South Africa in improving the transport systems for concert goers. As such, there are special transport plans in place for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band live at FNB Stadium.

Arrive Early    A large crowd is expected in and around FNB Stadium and the NASREC precinct;

-     Gates open at 16h30. Please arrive early to avoid queues.

-     Beer & beverage gardens will be in operation outside of the Stadium from 12h00.

 Public Transport

Due to historical traffic congestion at the Stadium, public transport will be the main form of transport to the FNB Stadium. The details are as follows:

An extended Park and Ride service will be running from 13h00 till 17h00 at the following locations:

 

-     Alberton City – R120 return;

-     Cedar Square (Fourways) – R120 return;

-     Coca Cola Dome (Northgate) – R120 return;

METRORAIL

Special Metrorail train services have been laid on for the concert. At a cost of  R 40 (return) concert goers will be depart from the following train stations to the NASREC station (FNB Stadium):

 Departing from Pretoria (15h50) – passing through Centurion, Irene, Kempton Park, Rhodesfield, Johannesburg and arriving at NASREC at approximately 17h25

 Departing from Springs (16h00) and passing through Benoni, Germiston and Johannesburg and arriving at NASREC at approximately 17h35.

 The return trains will depart after the concert from the NASREC station at 23h00 or half an hour after the concert- whichever is the later.

 Free secured parking is available to ticket holders at most of the stations along the route.  

 Limited pre-paid Public Parking

Very limited pre-paid public parking is available at NASREC show grounds & one parking area to the west of the stadium. The few tickets remaining can be purchased at Computicket.  There will be no ticket sales for public parking at the Stadium on the day of the event – no pre-paid ticket no entry.

 For public safety reasons – no other general public parking will be allowed in the entire precinct – including areas previously used such as Shareworld – which will be closed;

Illegal (pavement) parking will be strictly regulated by the JMPD.

  Recommended Routes to Stadium

The following dedicated routes have been put in place for the Concert:

 General Public

 To avoid delays, it is recommended that the general public approach the Stadium from the South via Rand Show Road. Access off M1 and N1 (north & south).

 VIP & Hospitality 

 To avoid delays, it is recommended that VIP and hospitality ticket holders approach the Stadium from the North via the N17 (access off the N1 – north & south) and from the East via NASREC Road.

‘Love is like a good steak. It can be tough, but it still has its very juicy moments.’

This Valentine’s Day on 14 February 2014 there’s both love and steak in the air at Headquarters (HQ) in Cape Town.

Loved-up couples will be treated to a three-course menu at R650 per person, which will include HQ’s famous grass-fed sirloin steak.

Whether you’re on a first date or celebrating a long-time love this chic establishment provides just the ambiance for the perfect night out. Low golden light and sophisticated leather seating create a comfortable yet elegant mood. The exposed stone walls add a touch of mystery, as if to underline that you’re somewhere special.

True love is rare; but at HQ you can have your sirloin done however you like.

Legendary musician Kris Kristofferson will be performing live at the Big Top Arena, Carnival City on Saturday 22 March 2014.

 

Kristofferson is known for having written such immortal songs as Me and Bobby McGee, Help Me Make It Through the Night, Sunday Morning Coming Down and For the Good Times, and for most stars that would have cemented star in Hollywood. But in addition to his enduringly popular songs, he has released 28 albums and acted in 119 films and TV shows.

Add the names Janis Joplin, Barbra Streisand and Rita Coolidge, being indicted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, winning a Grammy and spells as a Golden Gloves boxer, a Rhodes scholar, a college football player, a military officer, and a helicopter pilot and you have got to admit that he has lived life to the full. His music is honest and meaningful and reflects a life well lived.
