SHOW HIGHLIGHTShttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ffg0NjIUURc

When Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic plays to South African audiences at the Coca-Cola Dome, Johannesburg from Friday, 11 July 2014 to Sunday, 20 July and at the GrandWest Arena, Cape Town from Wednesday, 23 to Sunday, 27 July 2014, local South African skater Nicole Rudolph will proudly join the international company of 47 performers live on ice.

Born and raised in Cape Town, Nicole joined Feld Entertainment, producers of Disney On Ice in 2011.  Since then she has travelled extensively across the United Sates of America as a member of the Disney on Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! productionNicole is ecstatic to join Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic, especially in time to join the show’s forthcoming SA tour to Johannesburg and Cape TownShe is delighted to perform for home audiences, especially in front of her family and friends in Cape Town.  “I want the audience to feel what I feel. I want to show nothing less than pure enjoyment and I hope they feel the true beauty and passion of the sport,” says Nicole who previously trained at The Ice Station, located at GrandWest.

Nicole started skating at the age of seven years. She trained under Barbera Anne Hawkes and Datin Broodryk in Goodwood, Cape TownNicole is an established solo and synchronized skater who managed to fully graduate from school while also competing full time. She also learnt to become an ice dancer (from being a free skater), in less than a year.

While attending the Cape Peninsula University of Technology where she studied Architecture, Nicole “auditioned” by sending videos of her performances to Feld Entertainment. The rest they say is history. “I am always filled with joy when I’m on the ice. It’s my passion and I’m able to express that through my performances.” says Nicole.

Nicole is a role model to young skaters, especially in the Cape Town area. She encourages youngsters who wish to ice-skate or follow their dream in any other sport. “Dare to dream. Challenge yourself, don’t give up and always expect ‘hiccups’. Set your goals super high – even if you don’t reach the top, you have probably gotten further than you otherwise would have.” advises Nicole.

Nicole will take to the ice with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends from Disney’s MulanThe Lion King and Pinocchio and Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Toy Story for a grand celebration in Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic.  Produced by Feld Entertainment, and brought to South Africa by Showtime Management in association with DSTV, this fanfare production features more than 60 unforgettable Disney stars that span the decades, a sing-along score of award-winning Disney music, stunning choreography, elaborate sets and beautiful costumes will be in South Africa.
