Rita Gilligan & Hard Rock Cafe
The legendary Rita Gilligan, or “lovely Rita” as she is known (so dubbed thanks to the popular Beatles track) has been working for the Hard Rock brand for over 40 years.
This vivacious 73 year old, has been an integral part of the Hard Rock Café team since the very first Hard Rock Café opened its doors in London on the 14th of June 1971! What an innings!
As the very first waitress to ever receive the now infamous Hard Rock pins, she still wears the same uniform of calf length dress, white ‘nurses shoe’s and a hat made from a linen napkin.
Rita has served some of the biggest names of our time and has represented Hard Rock Café as the brand ambassador from 1988.
Today she travels the globe to assist in training staff at newly launched venues and attending special events and grand openings.
The Hard Rock Café in Sandton Johannesburg will be hosting their grand opening event on the 8th March 2014 and Rita will be attending the festivities.
